Simultaneous Championships a Benefit for Urban Centers
Professional sports squads always have end in mind winning a title, as well as Sportsbook clients.
In the cities in which the best squads are situated benefit and from those championship seasons, as long playoff runs result to enhanced cost-effective activity and tend to connect people who ordinarily wouldn’t have coincidences.
In these scenarios, the best alternative is when urban centers win multiplex championships in the same period. It’s essentially a continuos party for the urban center, with big cost-effective benefits.
Several North American cities have got two pro championships in the same year, when taking into account the top four professional sports conferences - the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL.
The most recent example is Pittsburgh, which had arguably one of the most victorious professional sports years for a U.S. city ever in 2009. In February, the Steelers got Super Bowl XLIII, and a short time later, the Penguins got the Stanley Cup.
Previous to that, the double title was last established in 2004 by Boston when the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl and the Boston Red Sox won the World Series.
The multiple championship feat was first accomplished by the city of Toronto in 1914. In that year the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League and the Toronto Blueshirts of the National Hockey League both got their respective championships (the Stanly Cup and the Grey Cup).
When another major leagues are included - like WNBA Basketball, CFL Football, and MLS Soccer - only 1 urban center has won three titles in the same year.
That was accomplished by Los Angeles in 2002 when the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA), Los Angeles Sparks (WNBA) and the Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS) each won their respective title.
In total, nine urban centers have won multiple titles in a single year, some of them multiple times. New York urban center, for example, has got multiple championships five times.
